Welcome to the Player Profile.
Each Month I will post photographs of one of today's leading LPGA players and a brief question and answer session.
LPGA Player Lorie Kane

Lorie Kane joined the LPGA Tour in 1996 at the age of 32. Not exactly what you would expect with all the teenagers venturing out to make a living on the Ladies Professional Golf Tour. Even with that late start, she has already surpassed the six million dollar mark in career earnings. She has four LPGA Tour victories to her credit and has had a number of sudden death playoffs including one with Annika Sorenstam. Lorie's carreer low round was a blistering 61 at the 2003 Welche's/Fry's Championship.
I recently talked with Lorie about her game and life on the road as an LPGA Tour member.
Rich: How on earth did a girl from the far reaches of the Great White North grow up to be a professional golfer?
Lorie: Well, Prince Edward Island really is the Great White North. We have the same weather as Boston. Just a couple of days later. Our season is from April to when the snow flies. Sometimes late November . I have some friends who have played on Christmas Day.
Rich: Have you played all 25 golf courses on Prince Edward Island?
Lorie: We do have 25 courses and no I have not played them all. I still can't believe we have that many.
Rich: Are you comfortable just making a good living on the LPGA Tour or do you still have the competitive desire to win every week?
Lorie: I love what I do and winning tournaments is what drives me. The tour is at a high and a fun place to be.
Rich: What does your time off look like?
Lorie: My off season will be time to work on my game and continue on getting stronger in the gym.
Rich: Who do you see as the next big star of the LPGA Tour?
Lorie: As for the next big stars, I think the tour as a whole is the STAR. The bar has been raised and play has gone to an all time high. You have to be on your game to win out here.
Rich: Any desire to follow Michelle and Annika to any of the PGA tour events?
Lorie: No. The PGA Tour is fine for the guys. I need to win more out here. Anika did us all a favor when she played the Colonial. It was at that point that people took notice of what kind of game she had and also how we play the game on our tour.
Rich: Pick a player from the PGA or Champions Tour that you would like to be teamed with in a match play event.
Lorie: If we could have a mixed tournament I would love to play with Mike Weir. We have played before and I have a lot of respect for him.
Rich: We don't know a lot about you. Tell us a little bit about your freinds and family.
Lorie: I was born on Prince Edward Island. I have 3 sisters and 4 nieces. I also have a bonus niece and nephew. My family and friends are very important to me so, when I can, I love to travel back to the Island.
